Friday, February 10, 2023
530 – 7 pm
Muhlenberg Township Building, Public Meeting Room
Join us for this free program featuring a presentation by Bradley Smith, Archivist of the Berks History Center. Mr. Smith will discuss the impact and Legacy of the Muhlenberg family, from their 1742 arrival to Pennsylvania to the present day, and how they influenced the naming of Muhlenberg Township. He will also discuss Frederick A. Muhlenberg, the statesman, soldier, and architect who established the local architectural firm of Muhlenberg Greene. Following the presentation, guests can view a display of artistic renderings on view in the Muhlenberg Art Gallery located in the Township Building. This collection of hand-drawn works by Frederick Muhlenberg from the 1920s to the 1970s highlight several his firm's best-known projects. Boxed sets of limited-edition notecards featuring select architectural renderings by Muhlenberg will be available for purchase ($20), benefitting the Berks History Center.
Help a Girl Out is now in its 4th year.
The campaign will kick off on Wednesday, February 5th at 5:30 PM at the Be Mine Boutique in West Reading, where you can meet the community partners, enjoy wine and cookies, and pick up a donation bin to collect products throughout the month. Those donations should be returned to Helping Harvest in Sinking Spring by 3 PM on March 7th.
Muhlenberg Greene Architects is celebrating a new milestone. Our firm purchased a building and renovated it over the summer with D&S Elite Construction. Join us for a Holiday Open House at our new offices—we can’t wait to show you around!
Experience the Paper Snowflake Blizzard of Berks County!
Over 30 years ago, MG Architects started making paper snowflakes to decorate the office. Over time, the firm’s tradition has accumulated over 2,500 handmade paper snowflakes, hung from the ceiling during the holiday season. This year’s submissions will be added to the 2024 installation.
We hold a snowflake-making contest every year, in which staff members create a unique snowflake for your consideration and the big win! Vote for your favorite at the party, and learn how to make one of your own to take home and enjoy.

The program will highlight the hidden health issues affecting girls and women in the United States. Specifically, discussing Period Poverty which is an often-unspoken public health crisis, defined as inadequate access to menstrual hygiene products and education. Suzanne will explain how Period Poverty particularly affects lower-income families as they have less access to sanitary products, washing facilities, and waste management, including statistics, and describe how legislation and taxation affect the menstrual equity. Suzanne will share why she is passionate about this topic and how it led her to join other local businesswomen and the Junior League of Reading to rally in a grassroots effort to help their local girls and women. Suzanne will also provide information on how you can get involved to help her combat the problem in our region.
