FIRM CULTURE
AN ALIGNMENT OF VALUES AND ACTIONS
Since 1920, MG Architects, Ltd. has built a reputation for thoughtful design, detailed project documentation, and quality service. The founder of the Firm, Frederick A. Muhlenberg, FAIA, was noted for his endeavors in architecture, community and social services, politics, and the military.
Our lively, continuous history of support for Berks County’s future continues today. We participate in projects, initiatives, and events that nurture local workforce development and provide opportunities for architectural professionals at all career stages.
A CENTURY OF DESIGN
In 2020, we celebrated 100 years of business. We believe that our success is attributed to our deep ties and long-standing relationships in our community.
COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS PROJECTS
• CWASD INNOVATION DAY
Our staff conducts an annual architectural design activity for Conrad Weiser Middle School, led by Brad Blankenbiller. The 2019 event featured an introduction to architecture and a Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired stained-glass window/3D modeling activity for the students.
• BUILDING BERKS AWARDS
Our firm is the 2021 Recipient of two Building Berks Project awards for our design work on the adaptive reuse of the Weidenhammer Building, and the replacement of 51 historic windows at Christ Episcopal Church.
• READING MUHLENBERG CAREER & TECHNOLOGY CENTER
Members of the MG Architects team visited the Computerized Drafting Technology students at Reading Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center to talk about what it's like to be an architect. At the request of the program instructor, firm architect Dale M. Johnson, AIA, represented women in architecture at the presentation.
• CHILDREN’S HOME OF READING
Day of Service participation at our non-profit client’s property, The Children’s Home of Reading. Our staff dedicated a half-day to painting 165’ of iron fence including scraping and priming.
• BERKS COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER AND THE MUHLENBERG SCHOOL DISTRICT
We pledged a commitment to helping Berks County residents become healthier through the sponsorship of our nonprofit client, Berks Community Health Healthy initiative. Our Renoir sponsorship will help raise awareness of the great need that exists in our community for affordable, accessible health care. The benefit we received from our support was One Children’s Workshop, where the Advanced Placement Art Students at Muhlenberg High School experienced a once-in-a-lifetime glass creation based on a drawing by a classmate. The event occurred on March 9, 2020, at the Goggleworks Center for the Arts.
